morning was one of the funnest adventures I have ever experienced as a
girl. It wasn't a long outing by any means, but it was so fulfilling and
so fun that I can't wait to share it.
So as many of you know, Kohl's is one of my favorite places to shop, and my wife has a charge account with Kohl's, and so we're always receiving little coupons and specials in the mail and by email. Well, it's been seven years since my wife opened up the account, and so a few weeks ago in the mail, Kohl's sent us a fun little card with $7 worth of what they call Kohl's cash, which is basically a coupon for $7 off your purchase at Kohl's. The department store also happened to be running a promotion for $10 off when you spend $25 or more, and both offers could be combined, so that meant I could get $17 off of something super nice at Kohl's.
I was so excited to be able to use these coupons, and I had another short window this morning to dress as a girl, and so I decided to arrive at Kohl's right at 9 AM when they opened, find something way cute for $25 or a little bit more, and then purchase it using the $17 off I had in Kohl's cash and coupons. In particular, I wanted to find something in the Elle brand because if something happened to be on sale for close to $30, then I could justify the purchase.
As for my outfit, I chose to once again pose as a working woman who was quickly dashing into the store on her way into work, and so I began with the Banana Republic cardigan that I purchased at the thrift store after getting my pedicure, and I paired that with a really fun jersey skirt in gray that seems to go with everything. Since I wanted to maintain the working girl look, I wore my black opaque tights beneath the skirt with my black ballet flats. This is kind of getting off on a tangent, but back in the 90's when Meg Ryan was super popular, she would often wear darling outfits with black tights and black ballet flats, and ever since then I have been in love with the look. I also never tire of watching those old Meg Ryan movies. :)
With my outfit determined, I first dressed into my bra and panties followed by a pair of silky nylons, and then for whatever reason, I pulled on a silky full slip by vanity fair to do my hair and makeup. I just love the image of a woman getting dolled up in front of her mirror wearing a full slip, and it was fun to do that this morning as well. As for my hair, I decided to brush it out and then wear it long tucked behind each ear. I just love being able to wear different hair styles, and it's just another wonderful aspect of being a woman. When my hair and makeup were finished, I slipped into my black high heels and posed a bit for the camera before dressing into my working girl attire.
When I was ready to go, I made sure to put both coupons in my purse, and then I was on my way to Kohl's prior to 9 AM. I timed it so I arrived right at the starting time, and prior to entering the store, I decided to make a quick video from the parking lot. After recording the video, I walked through the main entrance of the store and made a bee line to the Elle section.
